Indigo

While India and Egypt often come to mind first, the oldest discovered indigo-dyed fabric actually dates back 6,000 years to Huaca, Peru.

Indigo behaves differently than other dyes. Rather than dissolving like sugar in tea, its particles float on the water. To bind this color to fiber, artisans must rely on a specific chemical process in a controlled setting, giving rise to the traditional dye vat.

Indigo Aprons

Blockprinted by hand in Jaipur, our 100% Indian cotton indigo aprons combine artisan tradition with everyday function. Complete with oversized pockets and adjustable cross-back straps, they are ideal for the kitchen, studio, or craft room.
