Blockprint
Hand-blockprinting has a rich history in India spanning over a thousand years, with early archaeological evidence and fragments of block-printed cotton dating back to ancient trade networks with Egypt and the Mediterranean.
Despite the advent of industrial printing, traditional hand-blockprinting survives as a generational art form, preserved by artisan cooperatives that continue to use hand-carved wooden blocks and natural dye vats.

Our collection of indigo scarves is made by a small cooperative of men and women who were displaced nearly 40 years ago when their village was incorporated into a nature preserve to protect India's wild tigers.
No two patterns are alike, although they all feature rich indigo tones with a gold zari accent. They are large enough to wear as a shawl but can easily be styled for an everyday scarf.
