Ranthambore Tiger Reserve was established in 1974 for the protection of a tiger population that had been hunted by royals and rajputs for centuries. Providing a protected territory for the tigers meant removing thousands of villagers for their own safety from their homes. As a result, many of the men and women were given special training to transition out of their agrarian life. Our collection of scarves are produced by the cooperative that grew out of that initiative.
